Hector is a harness racing champion with over a million dollars in prize money. Thanks so much to the owner of Hector for taking me to Bendigo to watch him race.

He is a beautiful and relaxed horse but when he gets the buggy on he is switched on, super fast and blitzes the field.

The harness was a tricky thing to draw so I took lots of reference photos. Luckily Hector was very patient with me poking around, checking out the harness and buggy.

 

I thoroughly enjoyed taking the photos and doing the portrait of him. I hope the final artwork does him justice as he is such a beautiful horse.
